CASH'S TOP BASEBALL COMEDY PICKS

#1 Major League
The classic baseball comedy with the famous "Wild Thing" character played by Charlie Sheen. Excellent cast. This movie along with the wild thing character inspired me to learn to pitch and play baseball again. The Wild Thing Edition Major league DVD has some great behind the scene special features. This movie beats em all! Yes that's real live astro-turf on the cover of the DVD!

#2 Major League Back To The Minors
Minor league play with major league fun and enough of the Major League movie characters return to pull it off with some real continuity. Scott Bacula does a great job
in this movie. I like this installment even better than the second.

#3 Major League 2
The follow up to the classic "Major League". No Wesley Snipes but the rest of the cast
returns, even Rene Russo. A little more time spent on characters personal lives than baseball play but fun to see the team back for another season of Indians baseball.

#4 Mr. Baseball
This is a fun movie. Catch a glimps of japanese pro ball and culture.
Tom Selleck's most critically acclaimed work since Magnum P.I.
Also star's Dennis Haysbert from the Major League movies.

#5 Mr. 3000
Bernie Mac, very fun. A lot of work went into making this film "major league realistic". A unique comeback plot and not too much romance. cool special feature
documentary featurette's.

#6 Rookie of the year
Upbeat, lighthearted and fun.
Could happen in real life. Seriously.

#7 The Scout
The classic baseball fantasy scenario. Ahh to be the best hitter and best pitcher in the word, sign a multi-million dollar deal with the Yankee's and carry your cigar box full
of phone numbers around in Steinbrenners limo. That's the life....So far as I know.

#8 The Naked Gun 2 & 1/2 The Smell Of Fear
I know, this isn't really a baseball movie but it does have some of the most outrageous, laugh out loud funny baseball parody of any movie. check out these baseball scenes for yourself right here in video format on ROOKIE YEAR! towards the bottom of this page.

#9 Angels In The Outfield
This one's good if your in the mood for baseball and you don't have anything else around to watch.

CASH'S TOP BASEBALL DRAMA PICKS

#1 The Natural
the quintessential baseball classic. always an inspiration and never gets old.
I learned my pitching mechanics by watching Robert Redford pitching in slow motion.
Kidding.

#2 The Rookie
This is probably my favorite baseball drama right now even though it
will never be the classic that "the natural" is. Light hearted fun, major league realism
and a pace that can hold my attention make this a great "feel good movie" pick.
This movie made me think that I might be able to make it to a serious competitive level of baseball with some hard work and lots of luck. Until my fastball was clocked at 55mph. Another dream shattered. Think i'll just stick to the movie.

#3 For Love Of The Game
This movie barely edged out "soul of the game" only because it's set in modern day
which I can relate to more as a player and fan. Does a good job of visually projecting
major league play realism. There's so much love story in it's plot that your lady may even sit through it with you once.

#4 Soul Of The Game
I thought this movie was very well done. Great Casting and acting. entertaining as a human drama and as a baseball film.
